Wallspan along with VMZINC hosted the first Sri Lankan conference on Biophilic architecture in Colombo.
Director Wallspan Ramzeen Rauff told Daily News Business that they have a few projects on the pipeline for 2016.
"We are the pioneer of the Wallspan Extec mesh fa‡ade system, which has transformed the appearance of many buildings in Sri Lanka while enabling them to achieve greater functional benefits such as reduced air condition costs and comfortable work spaces that increases the productivity of the workforce."
The event addressed the essential topic of more environmental friendly solutions to the construction sector which is a booming industry in Sri Lanka today. Biophilic refers to bringing the environment in to the construction.
"It is the responsibility of all members of the society and industry to make an effort to follow sustainable energy.
In building Facades, the aesthetics, thermal ventilation, natural ventilation, access to nature, day lighting and wind should be taken into consideration," Engineer, and Fa‡ade consultant -FCA, Binoy Kumar said at the conference.
The Fa‡ade enables to bring a natural touch into the buildings that will in turn create a nature friendly environment that is healthier and energy efficient.
