By 2025, India might just use up all the water it has. This alarming fact is illustrated amply in the graphic below. 150 lakes and 7 major river systems have not been able to keep up with population growth and India remains one of the most water challenged nations in the world.

A 2016 report by Water Aid estimated 76 million people in India have no access to a safe water supply. The Asian Development Bank has forecast that by 2030, India will have a water deficit of 50 per cent.
